Frying Pan
For Juicy Sausage
For a 1.5 lb package, fry on medium heat with lid and add about 1/3 cup water. Turn after 20 minutes and check with the thermometer at 30 minutes. Cook until 160 degrees in the center.
Frying Pan – Frozen/Peeled
For Crispy, Roasted Sausage
Rinse frozen sausage under cold water and let sit for 10 minutes. Score the frozen sausage lengthwise and peel off the casing. If it does not come off easily, rinse again under cold water. Once peeled, slice in 3–4-inch sections and butterfly each piece. Fry on medium/low until 160 degrees turning so you get an evenly browned sausage. Cover if desired but uncover near the end to get crispness.
Baked
For Juicy or Roasted Sausage
Bake at 300 degrees in a roaster or cooking dish with lid on for juicy texture or lid off for a more roasted result. Add enough water to just cover the bottom. After 30 minutes check the internal temperature with a thermometer. Cook until 160 degrees in the center.
Barbeque
For Classic BBQ Sausage
Barbeque Premium Sausage on medium heat until 160 degrees in the center. Add BBQ sauce near the end if you like.
*Please note that Premium Sausage is made from 85% lean meat. Adding water during preparation may be necessary.
